For the Druids, the summer solstice was a time of celebration for the Oak King who viewed the abundance created by applying his strength, courage & endurance & was pleased. He knew it was time to hand over care of Mother Earth to the Holly King as the sun turns towards winter.
However, with the Celtic name for Oak being ‘Duir’ meaning a doorway, he offers us the chance to enter a place beyond time where everything exists in the Now. Here we can meet other parts of ourselves who are all living separate lives in different times. Some are living in what we would call the past, some the future & some in dimensions on the edge of our imagination.
